One, you do not need additional hardware or software to stream your games on YouTube. You can make a quick live stream from your desktop and from your mobile phone. And the most interesting part, YT Gaming is not just for recording the gameplay, but it can be used to record screencasts of any app on your Android phone.

Here is a step by step guide on how to create screencasts on your Android phone using the YouTube app. Independent screencasting apps can offer more functionality, but with YT Gaming, the big advantage is that you can even stream your phone to YouTube with a twist. Launch the YT game on Android and click the Go live button. You can choose to broadcast your phone directly or record the screencast first, edit the video and then upload it to YouTube.

On the next screen, select an app for Android that you want to stream. YT Gaming will show a list of apps that fall under the “Games” category, but you can click on the “All apps” link to screencurate any apps installed on your Android phone.

The recorder will transmit everything you do while the session is active, including incoming notifications and text entered in the input boxes. Also, it will record the sound from the speaker and the surrounding sound even if you get an option to turn off the microphone. The front camera can also be deactivated.


After finishing the recording, scroll down the notification drawer and touch to stop the session. You can now perform basic video editing before uploading the video to YouTube. For example, you can replace ambient sound with background music, cut video, or apply video effects such as sepia, B & W, and more.
