The Republican Jewish coalition calls for the dismissal of 7 Democrats for “ties” with Farrakhan

The Republican Jewish coalition calls for the resignation of seven members of the Democratic Congress who claims to be “connected” to the controversial leader of the Nation of Islam, Louis Farrakhan. The group describes him as a “known anti-Semite”.

Farrakhan habitually spoke contemptuous of Jews over the years, as well as whites in general. It was again taken up in mainstream spotlight this week after extracts from a speech held last week on the Day of the Savior of the Nation of Islam emerged online. During the speech, he once again described Jewish people – who say “I’m my enemy” – in a pejorative way.

On Tuesday, the pressure group called on the following legislators to resign: representatives Keith Ellison, D-Minn .; Barbara Lee, D-Calif.; Maxine Waters, D-Calif.; Danny Davis, D-Ill.; Andre Carson, D-Ind.; Gregory Meeks, D-N.Y .; and Al Green, D-Texas.

The aforementioned legislators have at some point in their careers while they were in the House – but not necessarily at any time recently, nor at any frequency – they met Farrakhan. In a report published Tuesday, The Daily Caller outlined the various previous interactions based on video and photos.

ABC News contacted each of the seven legislators to comment on the appeal by the Republican Jewish coalition for their resignation.

Davis told the Daily Caller in a statement Monday, without specifically addressing Farrakhan, anti-Semitism is “antithetical to everything I believe in and everything I work for daily”.

Davis also described Farrakhan as an “exceptional human being”.

A spokesman for Ellison, the deputy director of the National Democratic Committee, told Fox News that Ellison “repeatedly rejected anti-Semitism and bigotry, since its first campaign for Congress in 2006.” Ellison in 2007 became the first Muslim member of Congress, he was a vocal opponent of prejudice.

Donald Trump Jr., the president’s first son, broke into the fray on Wednesday night, retweeting a post from Farrakhan and adding sarcastically: “I guess all the complaints from the Dems who met him should get lost in the mail ??? I’m sure that they will do one day everywhere. ”

Following, the statement issued by the executive director of the Jewish republic of the coalition Matt Brooks:

Seven long-standing Democrats have close ties to Louis Farrakhan. Each of them should resign.

These include the former employee of the Nation of Islam, Congressman Keith Ellison, who is vice president of the DNC. Ellison tried to apologize for his 2013 meeting with Farrakhan, ignoring his most recent meeting with the US-based leader in the Farrakhan hotel room in 2015. At least six other Democrats are known to have embraced Farrakhan. These members of Congress – Maxine Waters, Barbara Lee, Danny Davis, Andre Carson, Gregory Meeks and Al Green – all have, while in office, sat with Farrakhan for personal meetings.

There can be no question about how disgusting these Democrats are to Louis Farrakhan. Farrakhan is first and foremost a hate preacher. He preaches about Jewish “control” over the government and the media and claimed to have “pulled out a cover from that satanic Jew”, saying “your time has run out, your world is over”. And those were just last week’s comments.

Anti-Semitism is unacceptable. Farrakhan is the moral equivalent of a KKK leader. Had it been discovered that members of Congress had met the KKK leader, they would have to resign. In this case, to meet and embrace Louis Farrakhan, a resignation to say the least resigned is acceptable to these democratic sects.
